Aviation Metals works in partnership with its suppliers to ensure the highest levels of material availability in the aerospace industry. The global nature of our customer base is reflected in our wide choice of aerospace approved suppliers. These range from the largest material suppliers in the world to smaller niche product providers, including ‘low cost’ sources.
Supplier performance is constantly monitored, with all major suppliers subject to a monthly order book review and a full suite of performance metrics.
Aviation Metals unique material planning software allows mill orders to be placed up to 2 years in advance with the flexibility to change specific details on any order within the actual manufacturing time – typically three months. This ability has been critical in maintaining the high levels of customer service in recent years at a time when mill lead times have reached unprecedented levels.
