Aviation Metals is Europe’s leading processor and distributor of steels, superalloys, titanium and aluminium products to the aerospace, defence and high technology industries with over 30 years experience. In recent years Aviation has expanded strongly to a turnover of $80M and a wide product range in bar, tube, plate and sheet. Part of Apollo Metals a wholly owned subsidiary of the internationally renowned Murray Group, Aviation Metals is dedicated to providing the highest levels of service to its customers.
In recent years with strong demand, longer mill lead times and material shortages we have worked closely with our customers to anticipate their needs and have built an unrivalled stock range of over $35M that is unmatched by our competitors and provides the base for continued growth.
Aviation Metals has built up considerable experience in the management of supply chains on a global basis with a particular specialisation in global offload programmes to low cost countries, working closely with other Group locations in:
Additional locations will be added in India and Eastern Europe.
A global market requires a different approach to sourcing materials. Aviation Metals works with reserved capacity at a wide variety of suppliers, including ‘low cost’ sources. This, combined with the stock range, gives a flexibility to respond to schedule changes and unforeseen requirements.
Aviation Metals has developed unique processes for the management of customer demand, provision of material, processing and final delivery, which ensures the consistently high standards of performance are maintained even in the most difficult of market conditions. A measure of our success in this area is our recent Airbus Supplier of the Year award.
The continuation of our success will be based on our people. Training and personal development are critical in ensuring we remain an innovative, cost effective and proactive supplier. Our position as ‘experts in our field’ requires constant updating and individuals are available to solve a customer’s technical, quality and commercial issues as they arise. |
